SHATTER ME FOR FREE

so here's the thing.

i have 120 extra copies of SHATTER ME that i want to give away to libraries/teachers/programs-that-support-reading all across the country. which means i'm looking for 120 librarians/teachers/schools/etc., who are interested in a free copy of SHATTER ME for their readers. i will cover all shipping costs, and will ship anywhere in the US.

i've had the pleasure and the privilege of meeting a lot of teachers and librarians all around the country, and i know how hard they work to stock their libraries with new books. in fact, most of them have had to pay for these things out of their own pockets. i'd like to help.

if you're interested, or if you know anyone who's interested, please email me at thmafi at gmail dot com (subject line: SHATTER ME FOR FREE) with a little info about you, your school/library/program/etc., and the mailing address i can send it to.

a few notes:
- if you'd like me to personalize your copy, i'm more than happy to do it! please let me know what you'd like it to say.
- this will basically run on a first-come, first-served basis, but i'll definitely do my best to make sure there's equal-opportunity for all states.
- sorry dear international friends! this is US-only.
- there's no deadline for this. it's not a contest. (but we'll have one of those very soon, promise!) all you need to qualify for this is to be a teacher, a librarian, or part of a program that provides free books for children (& otherwise).

i would, however, really appreciate it if you'd help spread the word! i'd love to be able to reach out to as many interested parties as possible.

(and i'll be back soon with a real blog post, i promise!)

That's a wonderful offer! I'm a librarian but I don't live in the US, and I work in an academic library anyway, not a public one.

Thanks so much. In addition to working as an aide, sub at an elementary school. I also tutor at a residential treatment facillity for children up to 8th grade. I am happy to share more info if needed.
We share love of books! Thankful and more.

What a wonderful opportunity for librarians and teachers and others of the like! I'm sure those books will find a home. :)

Well, I have a library in my bedroom!! :)

Just kidding! Well, not about the library in my bedroom. Just about it's qualifications as a real, actual library. :)

I passed this on to my REAL, hometown library. :)

We (my Girl Scouts) are building a Little Free Library this summer and would love to include a copy on our teeny, tiny shelf!

I'm a fifth grade teacher, but I have many former teen students who still ask for book recs. Recently in The Bookshelf Muse's RAOK Blitz I donated YA titles to the local high school. With budget cuts they don't have the resources to keep up with current titles. I'd love to bring Shatter Me to the high school. Thank you for this opportunity.

I've just finished reading Shatter Me (Spulbera-ma in Romanian translation) and it was breathtaking. I can't find my words to describe how amazing it was. Simply gorgeous. I love it. Can't wait for the next novel.
You're a genius.

I absolutely loved Shatter Me and so did my Teen Book Club. I gave the book a 5-star review on Goodreads and posted my booktalk on that site. This is a great opportunity to get a great book for free, what could be better!

That's such a nice thing to do! :) What a shame that I don't live in the USA.

I'll pass along the information to my son's middle school librarian. I think this is a wonderful thing you're doing.

I just finished listening to Shatter Me. I was really impressed. I'm not a big reader of YA, but after I finished Divergent, Goodreads thought I might like your book too and they were right. I'm going to pass it along to my daughter who is 17. I hope she likes it as much as I did.

Congratulations on your debut novel!

Hey Tahereh-- I should probably put this in an email, but there you go. I just wanted to say that I FINALLY read your book and really loved it. I am always nervous to read a book from someone whom I have brushed elbows with on-line, because I sooo want the book to be great. And yours was. Very impressed, can't wait to read another. Write fast. :)

I will check in with our libraries, and send you an email if they don't have a copy (unless all your copies are spoken for now).
